Summer in the Minors: Amos
In Amos 5:4–15, we see God's deep grief over the social injustice in Israel—how the powerful trampled the poor, twisted justice, and exploited others while still going through the motions of worship. Through the prophet Amos, God makes it clear: His judgment towards Israel is in response to covenant disobedience. He doesn't want empty religion; He wants righteousness and justice to flow like a river.
