Psalm 34 is a memorable Psalm for the verse that is often recited, "Taste and see that the Lord is good." This Psalm breaks down as command, testimony and invitation. David commands us to praise, shares his testimony of God rescuing him and then invites us to taste and see of the Lord's goodness and provision for ourselves. But what about when there is a gap between the tasting and the seeing, the tasting and the experiencing of all of God's goodness. What about when the speed at which we experience God's goodness does not reflect what it feels like we read within Psalm 34? What if this verse is more meant to be broken into two parts? Tasting as an act of courage and bravery, and seeing as a form of waiting and trusting. This message reflects on not only David's invitation for us to experience God's goodness, but also to call forth heart postures that are to be true of us in between the tasting and the seeing.
