Moms, please read carefully. This is important for the safety of your child while he or she attends the KidsCo program. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Holli Jung at (309) 830-0868.
We are excited to have this opportunity to become acquainted with your child(ren). Our goal is to provide quality child care through stories, games, crafts and songs. To ensure a safe and healthy environment and to help your children enjoy the MomCo morning, please adhere to the following policies and guidelines. Please arrive in time to settle your children (we suggest 8:45 a.m.). Remember, MomCo (for moms) begins at 9:00 a.m.
ELIGIBILITY
KidsCo serves children, infants through grade kindergarten. This childcare program is to be used only by mothers attending MomCo. Homeschool children outside the age eligibility are welcome to sit at a table designated for homeschoolers. Please provide work or reading material for your child. If KidsCo needs additional assistance in a room, we welcome older homeschooled children to be in the younger classrooms in a teacher’s helper role.
If you are providing childcare for children who aren’t members of your household and would need to bring them to MomCo, please have a parent fill out a consent form (one will be provided for you upon request) as well as a KidsCo registration form.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
We will always be able to accommodate as many moms who wish to come to MomCo. However, a waiting list will be created for our MomCo program when childcare space reaches its capacity. It is very important that you attend on a regular basis to ensure your child’s spot in the KidsCo program. Anyone who misses 3 meetings in a row will be considered inactive. At that time, your child’s spot will become available to be filled by a child on the waitlist.
CLASSROOMS
Children are divided into appropriate age groups based on the number of children attending, ratios of childcare workers to children and factoring children’s development such as eating snacks independently, crawling/walking, potty trained status, etc. Historically we have had as many as 2 nursery rooms, 2 Toddler rooms and a Pre-K room. Toddlers and Pre-K will have a snack and enjoy large room activities at some point in the morning. Please contact our KidsCo Coordinator if you have any concerns about class assignments.
WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR CHILD’S CLASSROOM:
*Please label diaper bags and ALL items separately*
Infants: Diapers, Wipes, Bottle, Formula, Burp Cloth/Bib, Pacifier, Change of Clothes
1-3 year olds: Diapers, Wipes, Bottle/Sippy cup. Extra clothes.
3 years and older: Diapers, Wipes
WHEN NOT TO BRING YOUR CHILD TO KidsCo
- Treatment with antibiotics started less than 24 hours ago
- Fever or vomiting in the last 24 hours.
- Childhood diseases (chicken pox, mumps, etc.)
- Any type of eye infection
If your child develops any of the above symptoms while in our care, we will have to remove your child from MOPSKids that day.
KidsCo DISCIPLINE POLICY
In the event that a child is misbehaving (hitting, kicking, spitting, disrupting the class, showing aggression toward other children or teachers), the child will receive two verbal warnings from the KidsCo teacher. If the child continues with the inappropriate behavior, the KidsCo teacher will ask the child’s mother to remove her child from the KidsCo room and leave for the day. In situations where a child is running, not sharing, not sitting still, or acting out of normal child behavior, the child’s mother will not be notified.
KidsCo teachers will not use physical means to discipline the child (grabbing, spanking or shaking) nor will they raise their voices in anger. However, in the event that a child is hurting himself or another child, a KidsCo worker will hold the child until the child’s mother can be reached. If a mother or KidsCo teacher observes inappropriate behavior by another teacher, the KidsCo Childcare Coordinator must be informed immediately. If there is evidence that a KidsCo teacher has acted inappropriately, he or she will be removed from the KidsCo ministry.
KidsCo teachers have provided their time so that we as moms can have our time. Therefore, a KidsCo teacher will not bring a child to the mother unless the child is sick, hurt, exhibits a behavior problem as mentioned above, or if the teacher has attempted to calm an upset child for 10 minutes without success.
When a mother picks up her child, teachers will report any behavioral problems or accidents (the child fell, had bathroom problems, etc.) that have occurred during the meeting.
The purpose of KidsCo is to provide a safe, secure, and loving environment in which children can participate and where mothers can feel comfortable leaving their children. We can work together to create this atmosphere by having good, open communication between the mothers and the KidsCo teachers. This is not possible unless you know who is caring for your child and they know you, so please make sure to personally introduce yourself and your children to each of your children’s KidsCo teachers.
NorthBridge Church will not be held liable for any injury occurred at the TreeHouse Community Playground.
You signed our KidsCo Agreement form when you registered yourself and children for the MomCo year. A new agreement will be completed each year of membership.
