Sunday Mornings at Northbridge

“Since then you have been raised to new life with Christ…” 

(Colossians 3:1)

As Paul writes these words to the church in Colossae, he is trying to get believers to realize that the resurrection of Jesus and his gift of the Holy Spirit changes everything.  He is urging them to see that they can live on an entirely different plane, raised above their sinful tendencies and the brokenness of the world around them.  It is a call away from a horizontal and temporal mindset to instead focus on the vertical and the eternal.  It is in regularly reminding ourselves of these spiritual realities that we can “elevate” our thinking, attitudes, and actions.
