The writer of Ecclesiastes says, “To everything, there is a season…

We are now gearing up for that season when, for most of us, the pulse quickens, the pace accelerates, the calendar gets crowded, and we make the transition from the long, unhurried days of summer to the heightened activity of Fall and the start of a new school year.

In my home, one of the most important (but most dreaded) meetings of the late summer is our “Family Calendar Summit.” This is where we gather around the table to look over the next several months together, and we work to make sure we have communicated well with each other and guarded time for the things that are most important.

In the past, people of NorthBridge have told me that they were deeply saddened to have to miss out on an important event in the life of the church because they didn’t know about it until it was too late. Many of the leaders at NB have wanted to see us do a better job of communicating plans well in advance, so, Presto!… The first ever NorthBridge Connection Catalog!

This catalog will help guide all of us through the upcoming opportunities to grow and connect. In it are programs and events for our kids, students, young adults, and adults from September-December. (You might even see a few “teaser” announcements for what’s planned for early 2019.) Our hope is that this catalog will be a great resource for you and everyone in our church family so you can anticipate what is coming and “guard” your own calendars for those things most important to you and your spiritual development.

In Acts 2, Luke describes the sense of community they experienced in the first church in Jerusalem. “All the believers met together constantly and shared everything they had. They worshipped together… they met in homes… they shared their meals with joy and generosity… And each day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.

Luke beautifully describes a church family exuding genuine love and vibrant faith. At the heart, NorthBridge is a family, and our hope is that this catalog communicates well so that we can deepen our bonds of community with one another while growing deeper in Christ. And when that happens, the church becomes so attractive and so irresistible that people are drawn to that faith family, and ultimately to the One who is at the center of it all.

That describes our hopes for 2018-19 – to deepen our bonds with one another while seeing more people added to our

family and the kingdom family. I look forward

to sharing the new ministry year with you,

and I am praying for a rich and exciting

fall/winter season with you.

Grace and Peace,

Mark Albrecht | Lead Pastor
